  4. Myself and my wife were captured next to our MET carts about a year ago, so I have been counting 24hours a day field service time since then! I did 8760 hours last service year... I won't post the picture as I value my anonymity. (As shown by my username!!) ...... .....And I'm not exactly photogenic! MWNN

  5. I don't know how to start new thread, so any help is appreciated... I was standing next to the cart in the main street last month, when I noticed a funny looking car drive by. I wish I was paying more attention! It was the Google Maps Street View camera doing the rounds. I can picture myself staring at this odd looking vehicle - no doubt mouth open with a puzzled look - wondering what is coming down the road. By the time my brain got in gear and I worked out what it was, I then did a quick check of my self, tie straight, hair in place, shoes shined, display tidy... only to once again have the brain kick in to make me aware:"It's too late now, the pictures have already been taken!" Now I'm worrying, 'what if I was drooling?' 'No', I say, I should be right.... I did watch the Google Car pull up and the driver get out, so I wandered over and had a chat to see how long before the new map data is uploaded. 4-6 weeks he said.... Oh, I thought... my 15 minutes of fame, but I have to be patient... deep down I was excited! Maybe not even that deep. I was checking Google Street View almost daily... I recall the day the car drive past, it was overcast with some light showers. The street view online was a bright and sunny day, so I knew the new data had not been uploaded... until one day late December the Google Maps Street View changed to grey and overcast view. THIS IS IT! I'm gonna be famous... So I navigate to my favourite spot to view myself on Google Maps, with a draft email ready to send to family and friends 'Hey guys! Check me out!', but I wasn't there. I was crushed. After some days I was able to get back online and view Google Maps Street View a little more objectively, and realized the blue line you navigate on - is on the other side of the road.... What I'm assuming that means is that after he had his cup of coffee, and continued on his merry way, the showers had departed and they used his vision on his return trip, long after I had moved on. It has been some months now since my encounter with the Google Maps man, and my eyes still well up when I think about how close I came to having a real web presence acknowledged by Google, but at least I can start to talk about it now . So the thread I wanted to start was one with successful captures of carts on Google Street View. Please post pics or links of you next to the carts, and maybe a story of what you were thinking or doing on 'The Day Google Came to Town'. No photoshop please. I got plenty of my own. Just real Google pics. TIA. Pic below... The tree where I was supposed to be. [emoji22] Older {still waiting for the 'Wiser'}

    Jobs I’ve had My first job was working at an Orange Juice factory, but got canned I couldn't concentrate. Then I worked in the woods as a Lumber Jack, but I couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe. After that, I tried to be a Tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it- mainly because it was a sew-sew job. Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was too exhausting. Then, I tried to be a Chef, figured it would add a little spice to my life, but I just didn't have the thyme. I attempted to be a Deli Work, but any way I sliced it I couldn't cut the mustard. My best job was a Musician, but eventually I found I wasn't noteworthy. I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but I didn't have any patience. Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory, I tried but I just didn't fit in. I became a Professional Fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income. I managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company, but the work was to draining. So then I got a job in a Workout Center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job. After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a Historian until I realized there was no future in it. My last job was working in Starbucks, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind.

  8. The economy is completely false and unsustainable, like everything else in this system, it's make believe. Yes, the US/Britain are the last world powers, but the end must be close, because the US is losing it's grip as a world power quickly. I've been thinking about this a lot lately, There won't be another world power like them again, absolutely, however, it's like having a deck seat on the back of the titanic when it was sinking and thinking it's safer, or you won't go down with the ship. Economy is complex, but can be broken down and understood. I've found the most important thing to learn is what exponential growth is, how it works. This is happening in all the systems in this world now. Also, read up on what "Fiat currency" is, that's very important to understand as well. The reason why I believe the US is breaking down and losing it's strength is because the only reason why they're the superpower is because they have the world reserve currency. Most important is oil is priced in USD, all other countries buying oil have to convert their currency to USD to buy energy, if theirs is worth less than the dollar, they pay more. Also, the US has been printing money at a crazy pace. This is what "Quantitative easing" was. The Fed buying back their own bonds. The government is something like 23 trillion dollars in debt to the Fed, hardly even being able to pay interest. For years they've sold bonds to China in exchange for goods. This is like giving them a paper IOU slip and getting stuff like steel, coal, iron ore ect in return. Exchanging paper for something real. Of course other countries got sick of taking the USD fiat money for their resources. China/Russia have started a market trading oil for Chinese Yuan (lots of news coverage on this) and now the rumor is that China wants to stop buying US bonds. If this happens, China will start selling off all the billions of US bonds they hold, devaluing the USD while also offering the world an alternative reserve currency to the falling USD. With trillions in debt and a falling dollar, the US will no longer have the money to fund the military industrial complex, deepening a recession at home and forcing the leaders to pull back military from foreign bases. This will make things worse when they lose control of strategic shipping routes for oil and other goods imported. The problems will compound from there. The important things to read up on are the facts, these are the exponential growth factor and Fiat currency. Once you understand those and how fractional reserve banking works, it'll all make sense, the financial system can only last so long, it's based on finite materials, but they act as if it'll just continue to grow infinitely. A thought that crossed my mind lately is, Revelation says the kings of the earth will submit and give their power to the image of the wild beast (UN) why would a superpower, that's held that position on the world scene for so long, submit their power? especially after having their way for so long? Could it be a last ditch to stay powerful via the UN? In any case, things in this system can't carry on much longer with the way these things work

  9. Wow I was astounded and overjoyed when I saw that Marques Houston, best known as Roger From Sister Sister is now a Jehovah's Witness. He was baptized November of 2017. It made me think, "If this celebrity, who is rich, can get all the girls he wants and material possessions can put all of that aside and choose to serve Jehovah, wow what's stopping anyone else?" Amazing.

    When you are bored just think about a few things that don't make sense ...like ; [emoji848] 1. If poison expires, is it more poisonous or is it no longer poisonous? [emoji848] 2. Which letter is silent in the word "Scent," the S or the C? [emoji848] 3. Do twins ever realize that one of them is unplanned? [emoji848] 4. Why is the letter W, in English, called double U? Shouldn't it be called double V? [emoji848] 5. Maybe oxygen is slowly killing you and It just takes 75-100 years to fully work. [emoji848] 6. Every time you clean something, you just make something else dirty. [emoji848] 7. The word "swims" upside-down is still "swims" [emoji848] 8. 100 years ago everyone owned a horse and only the rich had cars. Today everyone has cars and only the rich own horses. [emoji848] 9. If you replace "W" with "T" in "What, Where and When", you get the answer to each of them. [emoji848] 10. If you rip a hole in a net, there are actually fewer holes in it than there were before [emoji848] Sent from my Infinix X572 using Tapatalk

    A Mormon told me that they don't drink coffee. I said, "A cup of coffee every day gives you wonderful benefits." He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well, it keeps you from being Mormon ..." ————— I'm not Catholic, but I gave up picking my belly button for lint. ————- Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?" He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What denomination?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! When I was in class 7 I used to ask a lot of questions. One Day I decided to ask one ms. Smith this question. ME: Well, in pronunciation we ignore some letters eg letter 'H' in Hour, Honest, Honor.. E.t.c, Why? Ms. Smith: Not ignoring, they are considered silent. (I was even more confused) (after class, the teacher asked me to heat her packed lunch for her in the microwave in the cafeteria. I ate all the food and returned an empty hotpot) Ms. Smith: What happened... I told you to go and HEAT my food?? ME: Mmmmh Madam I thought 'H' was silent [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]🤣🤣🤣 Sent from my Infinix X572 using Tapatalk

  22. My wife, daughter and son in-law and I are going to the Special Convention in Tbilisi Georgia in July but after that we are flying to Dubrovnik Croatia. Anyone have any Croatia suggestions? We could stay in Dubrovnik, travel up to Split or even head over to Bosnia or Montenegro. We fly into and out of Dubrovnik but we'll rent a car so a little travel would be OK and we'll find an Airbnb to stay in. I see there are no english speaking Congregations close by, but going to a meeting and service would still be a blast!

    Going to Croatia

    I have the name of a place in Trogir not far from Split a little apartment we rented ( reasonable) the lady has relatives that are witnesses and I’m still in touch with her she speaks good English. We went to the meeting in Trogir used our GPS to find it up up up past vineyards found a house with the Kingdom Hall underneath. Brothers have little means there and cost of living is high. We received a wonderful welcome even though few spoke English but we did find a few that spoke English ( mostly the younger generation. We drove to Dubrovnik and the beautiful Plitcvic Lakes . We travelled the coast from Split to Dubrovnik stopped along the way and enjoyed the locals and all they have to offer fruit, wine , fish and nice quaint eating places. My dad’s family are from Croatia ..... I really enjoyed exploring my roots . Ooops didn’t mean to hit spoiler lol sorry for the disappointment

  25. When you're there, you really need to go to the plitvice lakes. A very strange happening... you cross through the islands to plitvice. But when you do, you will see the remainings of the war from tens years ago. It's very sad to see that people still live in houses that are completely wrecked by the war and the shootings. Full of Bullet holes in the walls of the houses. Some towns even look like ghost towns. Then you arrive at plitvice. And that is really a paradise. We loved it! Besides of that we went to the following places in Croatia: Umag, Rovinj, Porec, Pula and Piran which is in Slovenia right across the border near pula (I thought).

  33. What if everything exist all at once and we just perceive it as time flow so that we can process it. How does Jehovah see history? Is he flowing through it (time), so to speak, as we do? Or is he outside of it (time), and is able to see it all at once..if he chooses. For example, A person on the street watches a parade go by, and is limited by what he can see in his limited scope of things. He has to wait to see what will come next. We know that Jehovah can know the beginning and the end of everything. So being outside of time he could have a different view....perhaps like a birds eye view of all future events. Einstein said, time exist so that everything doesn’t happen all at once. food for thought.

    This a long one, probably too long to use in a talk, but I thought it was nice just to help us appreciate or sacrifices vs our blessings. SACRIFICE AND BLESSINGS A very poor newly wedded, young couple lived in a small farm. One day the husband made the following proposal to his wife: Honey, I will leave the house: I will travel faraway, get a job and work hard in order to come back and give you the comfortable life that you deserve. I do not know how long I will stay away, I only ask one thing, please wait for me, and while I am away, you should be faithful to me, because I will be faithful to you. His wife agreed, so the young man left. He walked many days until he found a farmer who was in need of someone to help him. The young man offered his services. He was accepted. Therefore he discussed the terms with his boss: Let me work for as long as I want and when I think I should go home, please relieve me of my duties. I do not want to receive my salary. I ask you to save it for me, until the day I leave. The day I decide to go, please give me the money and I will go my way. They agreed on that. So, the young man worked for twenty years without holiday and without rest. After twenty years, he came to his boss and said: Boss, I want my money, because I am returning to my home. The boss replied: All right, after all, I made a deal with you and I will stick to it. However, before you go I want to offer you something new: I will give you all your money and send you away; or I will give you 3 pieces of advice and send you away. If I give you money, you lose the 3 pieces of advice. If I give you the 3 pieces of advice, you lose the money. Now, go to your room and think about your answer. He thought for two days. Then he went to the boss and told him: I want the 3 pieces of advice. The boss stressed again, if I give you the 3 pieces of advice, I will not give you the money, and the man replied: I want the 3 pieces of advice. The boss then told him: No. 1: Never take shortcuts in your life, shorter and unknown paths can cost your life. No. 2: Never be too curious, for curiosity towards evil can be deadly. No. 3: Never make decisions in moments of anger or pain, because when you repent, it could be too late. After giving these 3 pieces of advice, the boss said to him: Here, you have 3 loaves of bread, 2 are for you to eat during the journey and the last is for you to eat with your wife when you get home. So, the man went his way, after twenty years away from home and from his wife, whom he loved so much. After the first day of travel, he found a man who greeted him and asked: Where are you going? He replied: To a distant place which is about 20 days away if I continue walking. The man said to him: Ol' boy, this path is too long! I know a shortcut that is very safe and you will arrive in 5 days only. The man began to follow the path suggested until he remembered the first piece of advice. Then, he returned and followed the long path. Days later he learned that the shortcut led to an ambush. After a few more days of travel, he found an inn by the roadside, where he could rest. He paid for a room and after taking a bath he lay down to sleep. During the night he woke up as he heard a terrifying scream. He rose to his feet and went to the door to check what happened. As he was opening the door, he remembered the second piece of advice. Therefore he returned, lay down again and slept. At dawn, after breakfast, the owner of the lodging asked him if he had not heard the scream at night. He affirmed that he heard. Then, the host said: Were you not curious to see what happened? And he replied: No, I was not. Then the host said: You are the first guest to leave this inn alive. My neighbour is completely crazy. He usually shouts at night to call someone’s attention. When some of the guests come out, he kills them and buries their bodies in the backyard. The man continued his long journey, eager to arrive soon. After many days and nights walking, he was very tired, but he finally saw his house far away. It was night. He saw some light coming out of the window of his house and was able to see the silhouette of his wife. But he also saw that she was not alone. He came closer and saw there was a man with her. She softly caressed his hair. When he saw that scene, his heart was filled with hatred and bitterness. He decided to rush at and kill them both mercilessly. However, he took a deep breath and he remembered the third piece of advice. Then he stopped, reflected and decided to sleep outside that night. He slept in the midst of the bushes, determined to make a decision the next day. At dawn, he was calmer and thought: I will not kill my wife and her lover. I am going back to my boss to ask him to take me back. But before I go, I want to tell my wife that I have always been faithful to her. He went to the front door and knocked. When his wife opened the door and recognized him, she cried and embraced him warmly. He tried to push her away, but he was not able. Then, with tears in his eyes he told her: I was faithful to you but you betrayed me. She was shocked, so she replied: How did I betray you? I have never betrayed you. I waited patiently for you for twenty good years. Then he asked: How about the man that you were caressing yesterday? And she said: That man is your son. When you left, I discovered I was pregnant. Today he is twenty years old. Hearing that, the man asked her forgiveness. He met and hugged his son. Then he told them all the things he had experienced while away. Meanwhile, his wife prepared some coffee for them to eat together, the last bread given by his boss. After a prayer of thanksgiving, he broke the bread. When he looked at it, he found all his money inside. In fact, there was even more than the right payment for his twenty years of dedication and hard work. Friends, our God Jehovah is like this boss. When he asks us to make a sacrifice, he wants to give us more than what we give Him. He wants us to have His unique wisdom as well as the material blessings.

The very last verse in John says he did many things that if written in full detail John didn't suppose the Earth could contain the scrolls written. So now my question is...what's the likely hood every one present at that time was healed of their maladies and we're so excited and joyful, it was easy for him to depart unnoticed? 48. Didn't the Germans feel this too when they supported Hitler through democratic means (ironically) to become the despotic dictator that he became? Nothing new under the sun. Sometimes they get to the top not by force, but by the will of weak-minded people who gulp down whatever tripe their leaders dish out.

  49. The ol' puppet master, he thinks he's something, showing people what he thinks they want to see, tickling some ears as he goes.. In a number of ways I respect him, or, at least, his abilities. That might not be, probably isn't, the right way to say that but I don't have better words right now. I don't condone his actions but he is an interesting person to watch. He is a very intelligent man and puts on a very complicated bit of theater. He had a lot of training in a lot of ways, mentally and physically. And, I suppose, a degree of some sort in Political Intrigue/Theater Arts.(P.I.T.A.) He was presented as a Major in the KGB, has been in the political arena (circus?) for many years, has no doubt done some fairly rough things. And he's still alive. A lot of his opponents are not. There are some things that he alludes to, in those articles, that are easy to follow. His comparison of Lenins tomb to the Basilica is a nice bit of sarcasm, his blaming Lenin for the eventual collapse of the U.S.S.R. is curious, I wonder where all that's headed...? I have long felt, and tried to explain to some friends at times, that socialism does resemble Christianity, in a twisted sort of way, that there are elements of both that cross back and forth. I usually get funny looks. I try to make the point that the thought or concept of 'all for one', 'all are equals', 'everyone has what he needs' bla bla, yada yada, sounds like a sweet plan, right? The problem is when you have man ruling man and some pigs are more equal than other pigs. Then socialism turns into communism and that ain't no good. It just demonstrates the need for the incoming Theocracy very ....um, ..vividly? It can certainly be garish at times. It's fascinating watching the wreck of this system crashing down. I sure hope I'm around for the Final Act....

    No, it's not and never will be for us. Jehovah can have a global picture of everything because he is God but this is not time traveling either.
