The underwear making company, Jockey was having a tough time with stock theft. On departure for home, all workers' bags were searched and everything always seemed OK. All security measures you can think of were put in place, Auditors were called in but still no one was caught and stock continued to disappear. All workers, including management were checked on departure, each wearing just one underwear and no one was caught with more than one pair. Then.... One day, the security was advised to check all workers on their arrival.. and the case was resolved! [emoji23] [emoji23] 🤣 🤣 Sent from my Infinix X572 using Tapatalk6 points -

Thanks and appreciation goes to Sister Lucy and Brothers Irmantas and Andrej for their diligent effort(s) to put forth a collaborative venture (in song and praise to Jehovah) that's fun, uplifting and encouraging for our JWT members. Can we do this again soon? And maybe another one after that? Please use this thread to input your ideas and/or suggestions for new collaborations...and as SOON as I get up the courage, I may actually participate once I get rid of these butterflies in my stomach!4 points

It's interesting that we seem to be getting more 'personal development' material and less 'service oriented' material. It seems that it use to be that every publication released was for the ministry, now we are getting more material to help us strengthen our faith and just hold on...4 points

Yes, I thought that was most interesting. But beyond just interesting, I was planning on compiling a list of scriptures in a similar vein. But I guess now I'll just wait xD Gives me more time to focus on other scripture studies.4 points

It is the 1700 update that contains the updated non-xp compatible program. You can bypass that. It seems the best solution is put together a package that contains the old with the new. It would have everything up to the 1701 update. Will post back when ready.4 points -

It’s all very exciting! As shown in the video, Things the Online Study Bible has that the JW Library version (iOS 10.0.1) doesn’t have (2017-12-23): Only the Online version can play audio starting from a chosen verse etc. (Just start the audio, full-size it, and drag the scroll bar to an estimated position in the JW Library version.)* Only the Online version can highlight in the reading pane all the cross-references in a category. (Parallel Account, Quoted Scriptures, General) The Media Gallery can also be accessed from within a specific picture etc in the Online version. (JW Library version requires going back to the list of chapters to view ALL the media.) *I mostly need the audio of a specific verse to check pronunciation. But there is an app for that, https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/biblical-pronunciations/id970048667?mt=83 points

I believe you... I did at least 25 recordings because I sing much higher than this song, but it didn't work. I had to do in a lower key which felt & sounded horrible, but I reasoned that this is not meant to be a professional recording, just another fun project like with Lucy's collaborative reading. Besides, when the brother edit and polish it up, it'll be alright. So, submit what you got.... it's all beautiful to Jehovah's ear!3 points
-
It was hard for me, too. I can sing it in my own key and at my own pace, but I really had to change the way I sing it to make it work for this collaborative effort. Please don't let this affect your everyday enjoyment of the Broadcast or Kingdom songs. We sing for joy, and to Jehovah, not for others.3 points

Oh Jehovah, Bless and watch over our friends, our dear faithful brothers and sisters in Russia for doing your will under such extremism. Please Jehovah, give them the patience and fortitude to continue to put up with the unreasonableness of the authorities where they live. May their zeal and steadfastness prove to be a strengthening aid for the rest of us and if and when the same situation comes upon us, may be as resilient as them. May the name of our God Jehovah continue to be praised in Russia.3 points

Sounds like he was distracted. There were posted speeds signs on each side of the track as he approached the curve. I wonder why they have not put GPS units in each cab like I have in my car. It shows the speed zone I am in and advises me I am exceeding the speed limit. If this was coupled to an aural alarm saying 'SLOW DOWN! SLOW DOWN! SLOW DOWN! YOU IDIOT, SLOW DOWN!" That would supplement the signs and the automatic system. Garmin could put one in every cab for $1000 and do it in a month. Passenger airlines have been saying "TOO LOW, PULL UP!, TOO LOW, PULL UP!" for years.2 points -
Amtrak Train Derails : Mass Casualty
Friends just call me Ross and one other reacted to Qapla for a topic
Since the train did NOT have the computer safety device (PTC), I am sure the engineer did not "assume the train would take care of itself", since he knew he was driving a train NOT equipped with the PTC (Positive Train Control is an advanced system designed to automatically stop a train before certain accidents occur. In particular, PTC is designed to prevent: Train-to-train collisions. Derailments caused by excessive train speed. Train movements through misaligned track switches.) This seems to be one of the big questions. Apparently, they did several test runs so you would the driver would have been aware of the curve and the speed limit. Then again, they seem to think he may have been "distracted" by "someone", perhaps a camera crew, in the engine cab. This accident does not seem to have anything to do with any technology that the driver was relying on - it was quite the opposite. Had the technology been in place, the train would have never been going over the speed limit.2 points -

Ok here is the link to download https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ar64WzzZD9T3yDlOF5g3_cRRQ8mD Uninstalling your existing WT Library Check the Program Files\Watchtower that is completely removed. If not, deleted anything there. Unzip the download, and run the setup After it is installed, copy the file named "update." over to the Program Files\Watchtower folder. You may want to backup the wtlibrary.exe file in case a future update changes it again, but most updates will just be the new publications and should update and work ok.2 points -
Poems and poetry.....

WILD FLOWER( when a person's gf left him,he wrote this poem) Deep into the green forest, I once took to safari, To discover the secrets of the wild. Among the thorns and bushes, I saw a flower blossom, Shining like in its first day of bloom. That was the time my eyes fell on you. Among the population in my hometown Like the flower I saw, It was you shining among them. You comforted my heart, Making me come up to you, That was then the day Like a dove that had lost its partner I cooed you to woo. How you made me discover my lyrics again, I actually did not understand, To you I sang and danced. Song after song I spoke my heart to you, Little did I know, wild flower You will not return the love I preach. Like onions, my heart was shred into pieces by your knife. Like the abundance of sea sand, Day after day I shovel for love. Ever abundant never ending, The reason my heart follows you. In the wild I never left you, Instead with care and utmost wanting. I dug you up, planting you in the garden of my heart There you flourished bloomed and shined But in the end, you attracted an unknown and you were stolen from me Sent from my Infinix X572 using Tapatalk2 points -

There is a way to recover the 2017 publications, using the offline update feature. When the updates are downloaded, they download to the following folder. (replace <USERNAME> with the username for your PC) Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Local\Watchtower\wtlibrary\E\WTE\Updates Windows 7/8/10: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Watchtower\wtlibrary\E\WTE\Updates If this folder was not removed during the reinstall, it may contain a file called "WTLibrary.E.WTE.7.UPDATEPKG". If so, then in WT Library go to Help>Manually Apply Update Package, and select the Update 7 file. If the file is missing, you may be able to recover it from the PC of someone else running Update 7. It seems that Update 1700 has streamlined this process, giving a new "Create Package" option under the Help menu, but unfortunately this doesn't give the option to create/share older updates that would be XP compatible.2 points -

All Things LDC

Well, we found out why the carpet was scheduled for three days: The prep work that has been being done before we arrive is now being scheduled as part of the install process. Although it makes more work for us, it is actually a good idea. All too often we have come to install the carpet and find the floor was prepped with the wrong materials ar the floor is not properly prepped We started the day by sweeping the entire Hall and floating the floor with the proper material. As soon as that dried we primed the floor with a sealer made for the way we were installing the carpet squares. They get installed with "Lokdots". We also had to let the tile Brothers finish their work. They did and the tile overseer left. When the floor prep was ready, probably between 3:30 - 4:00, we put down our "starter run" so we would have it when we came in the morning. While the Brother was putting in this run, a couple more Brothers added some additional tiles. Some of the tile Brothers that were still there saw the tiles going down with the Lokdots and wanted to know if they could help. They started in. Then, some of the locals who had been installing some sod outside came in and asked if they could help (yes, they were clean by this time). Before we left at 5 almost the entire auditorium was installed as well as part of the lobby. When we got there this morning and started in things went well. We did have to work around the door installers and the Brothers working in the Restrooms installing the partitions. Even with that, the three of us were able to leave about an hour after lunch. There were still a few things to finish up but they had more than enough installers there to finish, several of us really had nothing to do. There are times when having too many people gets in the way - shouldn't have taken them more than an hour or so. We had a 3 hour ride home but we are happy to have been able to assist with this LDC project. The local Congregation was really happy with their renovated Hall - seems it was really in need of this renovation. We are also happy to sleep in our own beds tonight2 points -
Yes that is absolutely true, I'm not saying otherwise, but my understanding is that our dear Brother was charged with being a "representative" of the Watchtower Society (which he is not). And sure the same accusation can and no doubt will be made against any of the brothers and sisters in Russia, that is the whole point. This way they can arrest any Witness with the same (false) charge. We are not part of the Watchtower Society, we are Jehovah's Witnesses (someone baptized and dedicated to Jehovah), there are no laws (yet) against being dipped in water and after that going about saying you love Jehovah. In the the minds of the public (which is where the persecution is coming from) and even evidently some Police municipalities, its the same thing, but legally it is not. The "Watchtower Society" is a legal entity, a corporation (a company) and the ban is against that society and anything it owns (or produces). The congregations were deemed "branches" of the Corporation (which they are not) so the authorities now have the right to grab any kingdom halls owned by the Witnesses. This has opened to the wholesale persecution the witnesses but it is not illegal for Jehovah's Witnesses to meet or even preach. Now I'm not saying the brothers will not act wisely (if they deem it too dangerous to meet or preach openly even if technically it is not illegal they will I'm confident take the appropriate measures to protect the brothers) but even Stalin would have seen the difficulty in writing a law that renders it illegal to love a God who is called "Jehovah" or for those that do to meet together. It is clearly time for our Russian brothers to be "cautious as serpants" and Jehovah will give them the courage to face these injustices, I'm sure there is more to come but the situation makes me think of Jehovah's Words to Jeremiah 1 "But you should prepare for action, [...]. Do not be terrified of them, So that I do not terrify you before them. 18 For today I have made you a fortified city, An iron pillar, and copper walls against all the land, [...] 19 And they will certainly fight against you, But they will not prevail against you, For ‘I am with you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘to save you.’”2 points

Did you know it was originally a group associated with the Russian Orthodox Church that started the whole thing? That was way back in 1995. They made a ridiculous complaint against Jehovah's Witnesses, which was rejected. They tried again, and failed. And again, and that was dropped too. They tried a total of five times until they finally found an investigator who would listen to their stupid claims. This ultimately led to the Strasbourg court case (the European Court of Human Rights) in 2010. Go to this link, scroll down to THE FACTS, followed by I. THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE CASE. Then scroll down to section C. Criminal investigations into the Jehovah's Witnesses' activity. Maybe they figured that if they kept pushing hard enough they would eventually find someone who would listen to their nonsense. It seems they did. Even after our victory in the ECHR in 2010, Russia has still refused to follow the ECHR's recommendations. There may not be any doubt left that the ROC is behind it all. Perhaps the ROC was also behind Putin's signing of a new law in 2015.2 points

Aren't we glad that we belong to an Organization that puts safety above cost or speed. At any building project, there are daily safety meetings and safety reminders throughout the day. We are constantly reminded that we do NOT sacrifice safety just to save time and/or money. According to some of the reports, the safety devices that would have possibly prevented this accident should/could have been installed several years ago - but - the railroad and Congress have repeatedly extended the deadline for the safety devices due to cost. Sad!2 points -
