Now I'm wondering if it's all been in a dream Times, they go from bad to worse Seems it's all been rehearsed We were standing here acting out this scene Well I know we need a brand new day, new day From what I see we need a new day, new day I really do think we got to have a new day, new day And that new days coming soon

    A good joke

About 30 years ago I said to a work colleague that chip miniaturisation was proceeding so quickly that within a couple of decades the name and address of everyone in the world would fit on a single chip. He replied “It would be a shame if somebody moved.”

  15. When I first saw this video presentation last summer, I enjoyed it so much that I downloaded Song. #76 in Tagalog to memorized the lyrics. (It's nice feeling singing in a different tongue other than my own.) It was a good brain exercise, as well.

  16. I think Darwin’s views on that fluctuated. At one point I think he described himself as a “theist”....belief that a higher power set things in Motion, but not a God that intervened in mans affairs. I think, similar to Hawking (?). At the end of his life I believe he called himself an “agnostic”. So while not a true atheist, he was kind of on the fence. Evidently he didn’t believe the Bible or accept Christianity and ruled out the possibility of humans having a relationship with God. He was/is heartedly accepted by atheist.

  17. I have PDF copies of all the old material. Some of these I have made myself. You take a copy and either cut out the pages or fold them open very carefully, then place them on my scanner and scan them as a JPG photo. Then I convert them to PDF pages. Then I stitch them together with an app that combines PDFs. Other copies I have received from others. It varies. I have selected the best copies to keep (clearest, brightest, most readable). All of the Society's publications fit in a file of about 60 GB in size. I have a copy on my desktop computer and on my tablet for safekeeping. I have stored them by topic (books, brochures, tracts, etc.) I have categorized them by date (splitting them up into decades). I use the Publications Index to locate the correct material (1944 Watchtower, July 15, page page 410). It is not as easy as using the JW Library app or even the Watchtower Library DVD, but it includes items that are not reproduced in those formats.

  18. That is interesting. I do not believe that Darwin was necessarily trying to turn people away from God. I believe that he could not reconcile a loving God with cruelty in the human world and in the animal Kingdom. He never learned, I don't believe, that God is not responsible for that. Likely, he was taught that we all are predestined to be in the positions we are in life and hence, it would never change, so what was the point in worshiping God? When his daughter died, I believe this compounded it for him. So to your point, I would be more interesting in his reaction to accurate knowledge, that God was NOT responsible, that his theory was nonsense, and that he has to abandon his old beliefs and adopt new ones no matter how committed he may have been to those beliefs.

  20. I think this is interesting and potentially significant. I also think there's a lot more to come on this. I may be going out on a limb here but I personally believe Russia is the "King of the North". Not sure if that's the general consensus currently, but I've been of this opinion for some time and especially so in light of recent developments regarding our freedom of worship there (or lack of it). I'm particularly interested in Daniel's prophecy, chapter 11, verses 44 & 45 in particular. I can't help feel that what Russia has done by outlawing JW's in that country shows he has 'planted his royal tent between the grand sea (the general population) and the holy mountain of decoration (Jehovah's organisation)' effectively preventing anyone from attaching themselves to Jehovah's organisation in that country. He appears to have gone out in a 'great rage to annihilate and devote many to destruction'. The last part of verse 45 says 'he will come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him'. If this is indeed the case, then the first verse of chapter 12 helps us to appreciate where we are in the stream of time, as it says: 'during that time Michael will stand up...in behalf of your people'. That being the case, the Great Tribulation may be upon us imminently! I'll definitely be watching this closely.

  22. I must express my gratitude for the new study edition. Having spent some time going through the Bible book of Luke, I've come to Appendix C, which does not appear in the printed editions of the Bible. It's all about Jehovah's name and the restoration of it. Jehovah's name does not appear in the manuscripts to the Christian Greek Scriptures as we know them today, so how do you know where to insert it? This Bible explains it in simple terms. Let me take an example. Whereas in the old reference bible, the footnote to Matthew 1:20 reads: Appendix 1D contained this: Useful, of course, if you knew how to use it. But here's the information as it's presented in the new study edition. The study note reads: The commentary in appendix C reads: Easier? Better? I'm happy anyway. So, happy digging. Let's see what you can find. Johan

    Stephen Hawking has died

Yes, I read that book too. He blindly rejected all the design evidence because he didn’t understand certain things about Jehovah’s purpose and issues raised by Satan etc.... but even if don’t like how a certain house was built it is foolish to believe the house has no builder. As far as trying to turn people away from God. I would say that when someone spends his life studying, writing books and trying to prove that God doesn’t exist...that qualifies as trying to turn people away from God. I’m not saying that was his only reason, but that part of it sure had a lot of success. The bigger culprit of course is Babylon the great...especially Christendom who has failed to teach truth and created an environment for individuals like Darwin to have any credibility. I hope learning the the truth after the resurrection will change individuals like Darwin. When he learns of the tremendous negative impact he had on people of the past 150 years he will be ashamed, if he really was well meaning.

  27. I think what really comes across here is recognition of the struggles we are all experiencing. They have put the struggle of Jacob with a literal angel together with the struggle of Rachel against Leah. Both may differ from the emotional realms to the physical - one would think struggling with an angel - no-one could beat that! But here ANY struggle could be that monumental. At the end of both - were blessings. So what I get from this text is a few things: 1. Don't minimize the struggle or trial you are facing yourself. It's real. It hurts. 2. Don't give up - but instead intensify your struggle until your goal is achieved. 3. Don't minimize the struggles of others - we have NO IDEA what each one of our brothers and sisters are going through. Just love them and hug them either physically or just by being there. 4. Enjoy the blessings received afterwards - Jehovah always blesses effort.

  28. Thursday, March 15 You have contended with God and with men and you have at last prevailed.—Gen. 32:28. Jacob was a very determined contender, and he proved that he would not turn aside from the challenge! (Gen. 32:24-26) And he was, indeed, rewarded for his perseverance. He received the fitting name Israel, (meaning “Contender [Perseverer] With God” or “God Contends”). Jacob gained the rich reward that we too are seeking—Jehovah’s approval and blessing. Jacob’s beloved wife, Rachel, was eager to see how Jehovah would fulfill his promise to bless her husband’s offspring. But she had no children. In her day, that situation was viewed as a great affliction. How did Rachel find the emotional and physical strength to continue battling against circumstances that were discouraging but completely beyond her control? She never gave up hope. Rather, she kept contending by praying with more intensity. Jehovah heard Rachel’s heartfelt supplications, and she was eventually blessed with children.—Gen. 30:8, 20-24. w16.09 2:6, 7

    Stephen Hawking has died

Even sadder when great hearted people pass away. What is sad about some of our “great” scientists is that many of them are atheist. It shows how we are not judged on our intelligence. It will be very interesting to see how these intellectuals respond to the realization that God exist. Someone like Charles Darwin who turned probably millions away from belief in a creator will probably turn a little red in the face. Einstein (agnostic) will probably shave his mustache and start combing his hair so no one will recognize him.

Hawking was much more tolerable than clowns that deliberately try to draw people away from God (Hitches, Dawkins, Harris, Dennett, Krauss).

  36. Atheists like Hawking may attribute the resurrection to science but that will be short lived. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah at that point. Too much evidence they can see and touch to deny God then.

In my last job I worked I had over 2,000 people under me! I mowed lawns at the cemetery.

  43. <<When questioned, one of the court-appointed experts further defended her original claim by stating that the NWT cannot be considered a Bible unless it is marked “by the blessing of the patriarch” or matches word for word with such a translation.>> Whaat?! I can see that the injustice of the Russian justice system has no limits.

  45. I often wondered if he wrote this song after reading the Truth book or something. Even in the new world, there will be NO religion, just the worship of Jehovah - so even that line is true. Once Noah and his family came through the flood - there were no religions, only the worship of Jehovah, the way it should be, the way it should of always been, the way it will be soon.

  46. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy1p81WdwOU&feature=em-share_video_user Atlantic Starr - Friends Oh what a wonderful world this could be If we all opened up our eyes to see That love is what we all need right now Then we all could come together some way, somehow My door is open wide, no matter who you are You can come get warm inside Cuz I need you, just as you need me, And there's a way to show it, oh love is the key It may take some time, but we can start by being kind, To our neighbors in each and every land And hope that in return, they would be concerned About the life of each and every man Chorus Oh on my honor, I see every man as my brother, And together we can find the hope that's buried deep within If we put away our differences and let's all be friends Life, can be beautiful, when someone gives their love to you For no special reason, and nothin' in return If we all tried to love like that, Soon the whole world will learn It may take some time, but we can start by being kind, To our neighbors, in each and every land And hope that in return they would be concerned About the life of each and every man Chorus Oh on my honor, I see every man as my brother, And together we can find the hope that's buried deep within If we put away our differences and let's all be friends Help center • Email options • Report spam ©2015 YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066

  47. Pat Benatar - We belong If you changed the lyrics around a bit you could actually make a Christian version of this. We belong to the light We belong to Jehovah We belong to the sound of the Word We're all living under Whatever be our trial that we face For worse or for better We belong, we belong to our Father

  48. ... And Peter Gabriel ;) Songs that remind me of the truth Have I told you lately that I love you? By Van Morrison (also with a cover by Rod Stewart) - It has nothing to do with truth but I always imagine the lyrics as if I was singing to Jehovah himself... And it is one of the most beautiful songs of all time... to me of course ;) Have I told you lately that I love you Have I told you there's no one above you, above you Fill my heart with gladness Take away my sadness Ease my troubles, that's what you do Van Morrison - Have I told You lately [Official V…: http://youtu.be/Rpq5vDccLTg
