Coronavirus Hijacks the Body From Head to Toe, Perplexing Doctors

More than a respiratory infection, Covid-19 wreaks havoc on many organs; inflammation and abnormal blood clotting are likely culprits

Garvon Russell was having trouble breathing when he arrived sick with Covid-19 at a New York City emergency room. By the time he left the hospital two weeks later, he had battled the new coronavirus all over his body.

His lungs were inflamed, their tiny air sacs filled with fluid that made it hard for oxygen to get into his bloodstream. His kidneys failed with Mr. Russell in septic shock from his infection.
Then, when it looked like he had turned the corner, his bedside nurse noticed his left leg was swollen. Doctors found a blood clot in a deep vein.

Mr. Russell, a 67-year-old retiree, said he feels lucky to have survived: “It’s nothing to play with.”
...

Believe it or not there are a fair number of people ( including one I personally had as a patient) who are promoting the idea that COVID is just an elaborate global governmental hoax!  Any situation will have one to two percent of people as outliers doubting it. But because this virus seems to be a genuine pernicious kanit of a thing and randomly seems to do whatever it wants or nothing at all. It has people doubting it.

That makes the death rate even higher rather than lower. At first they said 3%, but 3% of 4 Million is 120,000. This is double - closer to 7%.

Just thinking of anecdotal ideas - we had several in our inspections dept that had the worst flu they ever had back in February. So, when this came up in March, most thought they had it and were immune.

We'll, this last week the City finally provided testing for those of us who were still working and dealing with the public on a daily basis. We had the test that tells you if you are clear, immune and/ or active.

Only 1 came up with immune. It turns out his mother-in-law has it and was recently tested positive. They immediately quarantined him for 14 days. He had been pretty I'll for the last few weeks (thought it was mostly allergies) and taking allergies medication to suppress symptoms.. I'm glad no one else turned up with it, but it certainly proves what the guys had in Feb was just a flu. Now they are all taking the warnings seriously - whereas before they weren't. They thought they were immune.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of opening up this soon and whether it creates a much bigger round 2 or not. By July we'll all know.

Also, I wanted to post this here - I saw it on Bill Underwood's Facebook page and really liked it:

Hey guys:

Remember what the part about the iron and clay represents? People fighting one another, right?

The internet makes everyone an expert; Facebook gives everyone a platform.
The Governing Body has stated very clearly that we are cooperating with and submitting to the governmental authorities during this crisis. We are to take it seriously. We are to strictly follow the government's rules about personal protection and social distancing.

So how does a brother or sister justify passing on propaganda from some supposed expert that defies the government's position? Some conspiracy theory about the pandemic, that it was a Chinese plan to take over the world, or the US government's plan to control people's minds, or Big Pharma's plan to take in billions, or whatever the conspiracy theory is.

How is that not doing Satan's bidding rather than the Governing Body's?
Passing around conspiracy theories does not lower people's stress levels; it does not help improve anyone's health; and it CERTAINLY does not contribute to spreading the good news.

We claim we are "in the truth." Do you know where that phrase comes from?  “That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast IN THE TRUTH, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition.” (John 8:44)

I love to be the first one to Share something new; if it is contrary to the typical or mainstream; if it is outlandish or exciting, so much the better. I'm guilty. But if I pass on a story for one of those reasons without first researching it, and in particular a story that flies in the face of the guidelines from the FDS, how can I claim I am 'in the truth'?

Be careful out there.

Wow that looks dire. 17% of those known to have been infected actually die. The hope is actually that many more are infected than known.

I heard that the Raccoon is the official mascot of the pandemic.

I Wonder if a second round will matter.  There is no way the US citizens will willingly return to quarantine.

I wonder how we will know IF opening the economy back up makes any difference at all. We have no real baseline . The second wave may very well kill more people, but how many more will it kill under scenario one vs scenario two hasn’t been observed and with the recent mutation into a more contagious variant it may make little difference.  Where I work our Community Living Center ( CLC) ( fancy word for nursing home) has had no known cases. We have completely excluded all visitors and symptomatic staff this far. But not without the aid of federal Law enforcement. But what happens if we lift those restrictions as we most certainly someday must?

An elder and I talked this morning about the second round. If it happens it will happen December or January of 2021. The campaign in November will the perfect time of doing it.

Thousands attend Belarus military parade despite pandemic

Thousands of people, including elderly veterans of the second world war, turned out for Belarus’s Victory Day parade despite the coronavirus epidemic. Images from the parade showed large crowds as the country’s leader, Alexander Lukashenko, boasted of holding the only parade in the former Soviet Union to mark the defeat of Nazi Germany

Coronavirus outbreaks in South Korea and Germany have raised concerns about the potential for a second wave of contagion as restrictions ease around the world. The new outbreaks - and the fears of a second wave of contagion - underscored the dangers authorities face as they try to reopen their economies....

In South Korea, where a decline in new cases had prompted the government to loosen up, Seoul shut down thousands of nightclubs, hostess bars and discos after dozens of infections were linked to club-goers who went out last weekend as the country relaxed its social-distancing guidelines.

Many of the infections were linked to a 29-year-old man who visited three nightclubs before testing positive. Mayor Park Won-soon said health workers were trying to contact 1940 people who had been at the three clubs and other places nearby.

The mayor said gains made against the virus are now threatened "because of a few careless people".

It's going to be very hard to contain, if even a country like South Korea with very good tracing and follow up can't get the balance right.  What hope for USA and others intent on opening up their economy at any risk - money and business before health + election year. 😧

For weeks, I have been hunting for a UV light lamp to trace the urine marks made by a feral male cat. Now this device seems to be everywhere,  the 'IT" thing to get your hands on. But first I'm going to put the friendly critter into a cage and dump him a few kilometers away. We have come to love that sweet fella though. Our 2 resident cats did not share our sentiments.

Covid issues have hardened our hearts towards these neighbourhood pests. I did harbor a niggling desire to bring him back when my ship comes in.

You are joking about dumping that kitty I hope.

No. If I send to the Animal Welfare centre, they will ask me to pay for placing the cat there. I don't plan on paying US15 for getting rid of that nuisance. Moreover I can't go back and retrieve it back later because then they will ask for more money. Of course they will neuter the cat but mostly they put all the strays to sleep. Once I abandoned my neutered cat outside the centre. Was quite happy to see the cat roaming on the wall at the centre.

The people here let the cats breed without bothering to neuter them. As a result the neighbourhood is full of strays. The Muslims usually will feed these cats. So there is no problem leaving them outside the shops where is an endless supply of cat kibble and water. The cats even go into the convenience shop, knock the stuff off the shelves and sleep on the shelves.

Bless those Muslims who can never fail to look after these feral cats. But too many of these, they become a health hazard especially with the covid cases mostly concentrated in Muslim areas.

Neutering the cats is quite an expensive affair although I can get a $25 subsidy for each castration.

Also cats don't like me, only my hubby. I'm a dog person.

Sorry to put you to so much grief. The economy is so bad in this poor country, we don't even have money to put food on the table, let alone provide fish for our cats. Anyway those 2 kitties of ours are enjoying the good life.

I think containment is off the table. Its too widespread.

What we need is frank discussions about how to live with the virus, because until medicines/vaccines are developed, we will have to deal with this. I don't believe we are being honest with the people - we keep saying "stay home, stop the spread" which is I think its dangerous misinformation - that the virus can be STOPPED based on our actions.

We can do nothing to stop it. We really cannot slow it either unless everyone stays at home and NEVER comes in contact with another human being until a vaccine. I think we just need to give people the hard truth. We cannot stop it. We need to find ways to live with it.

I concur, containment is completely off the table .  What is more, development of a vaccine is highly unlikely as this virus , like HIV reproduces in a way different from influenza and more similar to the common cold .  So far as I understand no vaccine has been developed capable of immunizing against any virus replicating in this way.  So maybe it just comes down to accepting that our average lifespan has just dropped by about ten years. And hope for some preventative medicine and actions to help mitigate this problem until the Kingdom in the Full.

I’m not sure about that. I think it’s too early to go that far. The virus mutates, sure, but all viruses do.

However, this thing mutates relatively slowly, and at least one sequence has lost some of its genome, which could possibly mean is can potentially weaken.

Sars-Cov-2 is a coronavirus. Sars-Cov eventually lost so much of its genome that its basically lost all of its virulence and disappeared. They hope this follows the same path.

But this can probably be vaccinated against. It probably will be for a couple years scientists say.

The very nature of viruses for them to survive (which is strange as they aren't alive until they inhabit the host) is to mutate - most mutations cause the virus to lose potency ... but what they are afraid of, is that one mutation that makes it stronger.
