Found out via jw.org upon waking this morning. Absolutely heartbroken. My prayers will be with all my brothers and sisters affected by this awful tragedy.

There's speculation as to whether one man was capable of carrying this out. I guess we will have to wait and see.

😞

I agree with some of you in here, that perhaps more security might be implemented at convention sites, assemblies, and more vigilance monitoring at our halls!  Or, will be all back on zoom? It may come down to choice.

Currently the attendants at congregation meetings are to monitor the entrance before, during, and after the meeting. At all times, they will remain alert to those wishing to enter, kindly ascertaining their intentions if they are unknown and if an individual does not appear to pose a threat, the attendant may grant them access. I can see those guidelines becoming more stringent at assemblies and conventions one day.

This attack, and the one in Hamburg, were carried out by disfellowshipped people, not strangers, if I'm not mistaken.

It appears, from reports, that the OP attack was carried out by a 'long-term' Bible Study, rather than a disfellowshipped person. But information is scant so far,

Agreed.  There's a big difference between a disfellowshipped person and what the media calls "a former member".  Former member can mean any number of things.

But, in the two incidents, Hamburg and now Kerala, apparently it was not a complete stranger to our worship.

Most places we rent for a convention or assembly have their own security so maybe utilizing them would be helpful.

The death toll is now up to three.

Two women who'd been attending the meeting died on Sunday, while a 12-year-old girl with 95% burns succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning.

.....17 people had been admitted to different hospitals after the blasts, 12 of whom were in intensive care.......

"Four are critically ill, three of them are on ventilators. Those who are critically ill have burns above 50-60%," she said.
