2018 Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses - Public Service Announcement

I don’t ever remember us ever using tv stations to advertise our conventions! (I may be wrong!) but this is interesting. On jw.org https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=502018809&srcid=share13 points -
I overhead this when at market: 'no way Putin is that stupid to start stuff, he has one aircraft carrier, we have about 20...' I also heard that when the Russian carrier was deployed into the Syrian theatre of operations, it had to be towed there. It would appear to be in everyone's best interests if they would just get together over the weekend and settle everything over a few stiff drinks and then this Monday they can announce Peach and Security for all and then we can get on with what we were getting on..10 points

North Korea - Path to denuclearization
Myew and 7 others reacted to New World Explorer for a topic
Pyongyang has declared a new strategic course for the country, announcing an indefinite suspension of all nuclear and ballistic missile tests, in the run-up to the planned meeting between Kim Jon-un and US President Donald Trump. Pyongyang will establish a favorable international environment and will intensify close dialogue with neighboring countries and the international community, in order to protect the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and the world. https://www.rt.com/news/424740-north-korea-denuclearization-decisions/8 points -

Speculating future blessings
Good-O and 6 others reacted to Friends just call me Ross for a topic
I think we will continue to receive reminders on the importance of forgiving one another freely so that Jehovah's people will remain united through the Great Tribulation. Love is the bond that keeps our worldwide brotherhood together. Our love and unity stands in Stark contrast to the world's hatred and disunity. Reflecting Jehovah's qualities will draw honest hearted people to the Truth. Being united in love and peace, we will be able to encourage one another to remain faithful and endure whatever lies ahead.7 points -

Took this yesterday. (Our Metropolitan Cart depo is just around the corner) Melbourne is renown for its laneways and lively street-art scene The aerosol art movement for over a decade now, and has seen it rise from it's origins as a graffiti subculture to being widely accepted by local authorities, businesses and the general public, especially international tourists.5 points -
Well in regards to traffic I just gave a talk a few weeks ago "Who are the Real Followers of Christ" and did you know that JW.ORG is the most visited religious website out of over 77,000 religious websites worldwide AND it is the most translated website out of 1.8 BILLION websites worldwide and this from a relatively small religion compared to the mighty mainstream ones THAT can only come from Jehovah's holy spirit - in other words identifying the True Religion according to Scriptures such as Acts 1:8 and many others. {statistics according to Similarweb and Alexa}. "You will recieve POWER when the holy spirit arrives and you will be witnesses of me...to the MOST DISTANT PART OF THE EARTH" !!! If anyone sees our announcement on any TV stations please let us know where when and what station it was please. Thanks. Bruce Q5 points

WiFi, EMFs, Radiation
SUNRAY and 3 others reacted to ➕👇 ꓤꓱꓷꓠꓵ🎵Tone for a topic
I personally feel that some people seems to be more susceptible to radiation than others. I see reports of illness allegedly from mobile cell phones, yet in our cong was a brother who is on cell phones and cell towers for his work with no diagnosed illnesses. I also seem to think that the higher the frequency (microwave) and power (ie microwave v cell phone), is more penetrative than lower frequency like wifi, Bluetooth or 'walkie talkies'. But 3 feet is a very safe distance for portable domestic appliances to dissipate any radiation. Sorry I cannot point to any studies. For every study, if you look, you can find a counter-study. 'Moderation in all things' might apply here too. Older {still waiting for the 'Wiser'}4 points -

Thank you for sharing Rozann!! This story like many others - was so inspiring - I cried when I read their account. Here is the PDF again (for those having troubles uploading) The story of Liberia - the growth - the challenges - perhaps a long read - but ever so inspiring!! - page 18 begins with a day at their assembly - GBARNGA ASSEMBLY - the year 1963 and their incredible trial and standing firm in their faith. I had not known of this til Rozann's request for the 1977 yearbook. May we gain strength in their resolve to honour Jehovah inspite of all that man throws in our way! LIBERIA - YB 1977.pdf4 points

Considering the fact that the rebellious angels started with unnatural sexual desires, it's no surprise that the demon inspired world focuses on sexual perversion and abuse. Its only going to get worse. (I will not be offended by 'Angry" and 'Dislike' responses)4 points

I don't know if there is already a thread somewhere about these but I couldn't find one. I have been concerned about radiation ever since I started using these devises and especially when I read the studies that have proven that they are harmful. I do what I can on a practical basis; keep my cell at least 3 feet away from me when not using it, use the speaker phone on a call, keep it turned out when near my body, turn the Wifi off at night; know I should do the router too but can't do it. They are small measures I know but they can add up, and I am surprised when others don't seem to care about it or take any steps to protect themselves because they either believe the claims that they are harmless, or don't care about it. Some never have their phone out of their hand or against their body somewhere, hand, head, hip.. Now that the Organization has begun using technology to a larger degree and encourages us to use it for meetings, Conventions and Service, I wonder if there really is anything to be alarmed about. I mean, when we are at these gatherings the area has to be Saturated with radiation counting all the cell phones and tablets that most everyone brings with them. At Conventions we sit for many hours for days in a row. meetings also for hours twice a week and this added to our use at other times. Does this mean that the GB does not think there is any harm from them or if they do, that the spiritual gain and putting our love for Jehovah first is worth the risk? Does anyone besides me think these fears are warranted? I've even thought if only at these times Jehovah would delete the radiation streaming through us even though we aren't aware of it.. that would really be cool...3 points

Speculating future blessings
humblebee and 2 others reacted to Beggar for the Spirit for a topic
Hi Alexa, Nice topic you started Maybe a possible blessing that will happen, maybe even this year, is that Jehovah could maneuver things so that some of the countries that are presently restricting the preaching of the Good News will "open their gates". For example, 1 of the most restricted countries has been N.Korea, but if a peace treaty happens soon, then travel may be allowed between North & South Korea and many people will seek to find their relatives and family who they have been separated from for many years, decades. If peace happens, then S.Korean brothers and sisters will happily introduce their relatives in the North to Jehovah and the Kingdom! What a wonderful blessing that would be for the people of both countries who have endured so much. Many N.Koreans will need a lot of help spiritually since they have been politically indoctrinated since they were children. But Jehovah will give the S.Korean brothers/sisters and missionaries, "weapons...not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God" (2 CO 10:4, 5)3 points -

Wouldn't you know it? The brothers filed complaints to the Russian Human Rights Ombudsman about violation of their rights. And the Ombudsman decided... there were no violations! http://www.sclj.ru/news/detail.php?SECTION_ID=487&ELEMENT_ID=7813 Maybe the brothers should go elsewhere with their complaints...?
