It may be a stupid question but does the bethel work on Saturday? This fantastic article is not yet available in Polish and Ukrainian and I’m wondering if it will be published today or on Monday. 

Usually not, but if necessary, they do. Some machines and services run 24/7.

We just finished service. Our first item on agenda was assessing possibility to welcome or brothers and sisters from Ukraine based on letter from the branch:

• how many people
• for how long
• can we provide basic necessities (I imagine food, clothing, personal hygiene products)
• who can come (brothers only, sisters only, couples, families)
• can we go to the border to pick them up

Some brothers/sisters who don’t have conditions for accommodation said they would like to help financially to care about our refuge fellow believers.

 

This was sent to all congregations in Poland and the branch expects the answer today. 

 

Now, I’m afraid that because our congregation is 900 km from the border we may not have the privilege to host our brothers.

Update 2: Today is more or less quiet in Kyiv (morning and midday). From time to time, we heard explosions in my neighborhood. We had FGS in the morning. A lot of brothers and sisters joined the meeting. It was a great time to encourage each other. We prepared and sent an informal message to the interested person using Isa 30:15. Also, we discussed how important to be politically neutral as must as we can at this time. In this thread, someone mentioned this issue, and that's true it could happen unexpectedly. For instance, being in a shelter some patriot-mind people could start singing the national hymn. The good q/a: how would I behave myself in this situation?

A humble brother from my congregation sent a lovely message for locals into our Telegram’s congregation group. I’ve decided to translate it and share it in this forum. (I tried to be accurate in the translation as much as I could 🙂)

Dear brothers and sisters, according to the reports of brothers from different parts of the world, it is clear that brothers and sisters are praying hard for us, and now the number of prayers to Jehovah is rising much more than bullets and artillery shells flying through our country.

 

Jehovah's support hotline now has a colossal bandwidth and this channel will not be overloaded, it will not turn off, it will not be cut off. But what can be said about Jehovah, after all, he listens attentively to every prayer?!

 

Why, when a brother or sister turns to one of us with a request for help, then we have a desire to help, and we cannot refuse a brother, especially when we are able to provide this help? Because we love, and because a brother's pain is our pain. Jehovah is the source of all our positive qualities, we are taught and trained in his image and likeness. This means that Jehovah is the first of all who now supports us, helps and sees the trajectory of any bullet and projectile. We, dear ones, are the most valuable thing on our globe, along with other servants of Jehovah. It was for us that Jesus died, so we are under the watchful eye of Jehovah. Remember, no sparrow falls without the knowledge of Jehovah, nor are any of us left behind now. This is impossible, such is our God Jehovah, he will NEVER leave those whom he loves and whom he has called to himself! Even if we don’t see him, we don’t know how many angels there are, but it’s not necessary, it’s enough to know Jehovah, our Heavenly Father! He did not just decide that we should not take up arms and learn to fight in defense of ourselves, but He decided that this matter should be his, the Almighty Creator of the Universe!

 

Let, regardless of the events of today, trust in Jehovah be the main feeling in our heart, because He is one «loyal»!

Here in New York we are praying for the Ukrainian brothers as well as those in Russian and else where for Jehovah's protection.

Our hearts goes out to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and our prayers on their behalf will be pleasant to Jehovah. While we eagerly look forward to news and information on how they're fairing (through pictures, video clips etc), we want to be careful our information is authentic so we do not inadvertently help those with ulterior motive spread fake and  damaging news item as identified in this news item.

Update 3: The morning was not so quiet in my area compared to the previous ones. However, we had the weekend meeting today, which has helped my congregation receive spiritual refreshing. It was unusual to see brothers and sisters in casual clothes (ready to go to a shelter) and in their bathrooms (a pretty safe place in an apartment) at the meeting. We're keeping a positive mood, received many encouraging messages and videos from different parts of the world. I liked the thought from today's talk: "The darker the night, the closer we are to dawn." We hope these events will finish soon.
