BREAKING NEWS story from jw org, shows that of our 17 brothers are imprisoned for their faith, unlawfully. Please read the full letter, it helps us to be specific in our prayers to Jehovah. I doubt this letter will be published in the Russian press, so we need the truth to be told.

Witness Family Dies in Plane Crash

https://www.jw.org/en/news/jw/region/cuba/plane-crash-20180607/ Witness Family Dies in Plane Crash in Cuba On Friday, May 18, 2018, a Boeing 737 crashed shortly after takeoff from Havana, Cuba. Of the 113 people on board, only one person survived, making this the country’s worst airline accident in many years. Sadly, included in the death toll was a family of three of Jehovah’s Witnesses (a father, mother, and 22-year-old son), who were active, beloved members of their congregation in Cuba. A funeral was held for the family on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Along with the emotional and spiritual support that is being provided by the local elders to the friends and family of the victims, local authorities have also kindly offered practical assistance. We are confident that Jehovah will continue to bring ‘comfort to all who mourn’ during this difficult time.—Isaiah 61:1, 2.

    An answer when mild...

This experience is from the wife of a recently reactivated brother.. He's now an Ms here; his wife, from a charismatic religious background, is currently studying and an unbaptised publisher. She's at work.. Conversation with a male co-worker, comes up about JWs. Vehemently blurts out. I hate them! She says bravely, that she's studying with them. Now I hate you! , he says. How can you say a moment ago you like me and now Hate me? What have Jehovahs witnesses ever done to you that makes you feel like that? He had no answer. After a pregnant pause... He just said.. OK, what's it all about then? She proceeded to tell him what she's learning. She defends the truth at any opportunity! I'm amazed at her. She's fearless!

    Flog It!

In the UK the BBC have a programme called Flog It! Nothing to do with flagellation nor dead horses, but in English the word "flog" can also mean "sell". The programme asks people to bring items they think may be antique and/valuable to be assessed with the thought that they may be selected to be sold at auction - or "flogged". The venues chosen are often stately homes etc and today it was Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire. In one of the rooms, the Dorothy Davenport room, was a four-poster bed, where Dorothy had embroidered a pelmet, a headboard cover and a throw, between 1610 and 1614. The headboard cover had an interesting depiction of Adam and Eve in the garden. Here is a screenshot.

    Gay pride...

The reason, though, that they didn’t speak out was for fear of violence or severe retribution’s, such as cut family ties, simply because of a different sexuality. These days they still fear all of that, but it has become a bit better, and many consider pride festivals a ‘safe zone’. Many businesses see it as great for their businesses to show that they are inclusive and non-judgmental.

There are several good questions in the letter, I hope it gets a lot of publicity. We cannot find the answers to the questions of why we are being subjected to such harassment in our country, and which religion will be the next to fall victim after us? The aforementioned decision of the Supreme Court did not ban the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia. It only involved legal entities. So why are the law-enforcement agents acting in contravention of the will of the government of our country?

Reading about the faith of our young ones reminded me of an experience of many years ago. I can't locate the reference (but I think it was in Australia). A young witness boy (7-8 years old) went to spend some time with his grandmother who was not a witness. For lunch one day she served 'black-sausages'. These were not the blood-sausage type but they looked similar. The young brother said he could not eat them because of the blood. The grandmother was offended and angry and urged him to eat his lunch. The boy refused. The upset grandmother told him that he would eat them if he was starving! The boy told her, "I wouldn't eat them if heaven fell on me." I have always remembered the experience. I think it was reported about 30 or more years ago.

"Micro-evolution" can simply be thought of as adaptation - or even selective breeding.

We agree with the clearly observable phenomena that has been termed "microevolution", but we disagree that millions of years of microevolution has a cumulative effect of macroevolution and the creation of entirely new species. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102010233

The american ascent sounds normal to anyone in ngeria that was educated in english being our lingual franca. It becomes a problem when the words are pronounced to fast to our hearing but so far, I have noticed our brothers and sisters take their time when speaking.

    My off topic thread

Was at the tire shop this morning getting a new lawn tractor tire when a young woman came in. She stood at the counter for a bit and I felt uncomfortable for her so I mentioned all the guys were in the shop and would be back in a bit. She said she'd called first and was waiting for Mike. We made small chit chat, she said she liked my truck and then we talked about her minivan. She said it was full of equipment, I asked what she did for a living she said she was a scout for the Food Network show Diners Drive ins and Dives. She got a call from Guy Fieri while we sat there. She, Amber, said they were on their way to Spokane then Montana for filming. She was super nice and very down to earth. She talked about how she can be on the road from 8 days to a month and was blessed to have her parents care for her 9 year old son while she works, she said she bought them a house in compensation for their help. Said she had July off and plans to spend it doing fun stuff with her son. Enjoyed the visit, and no I didn't ask anything about Guy!

We hear a variety of accents on JW tv. So far I've enjoyed listening to these different accents, and often I especially like the American ones. I think just about everyone's used to most American accents due to so many movies and tv shows being from the US, so it isn't difficult to understand them either. American movies:
