  1. "GOOD" 😁 BREAKING NEWS | Historic Korean Constitutional Court Decision: Punishing Conscientious Objectors Declared Unconstitutional On June 28, 2018, for the first time in South Korea’s history, the Constitutional Court declared a section of Korea’s Military Service Act (MSA) unconstitutional, as it does not provide alternative service for conscientious objectors. The landmark ruling is the key to reversing a 65-year-old policy of imprisoning conscientious objectors under the MSA. Since 1953, over 19,300 of our brothers have been sentenced to a combined total of more than 36,700 years in prison. The Constitutional Court’s decision now opens the door for the Supreme Court of Korea to apply this ruling to specific cases involving conscientious objectors. In addition, Korean lawmakers are now obligated to institute alternative service for conscientious objectors by December 31, 2019. We all rejoice with our brothers in Korea that the foundation has been laid to end decades of injustice.—Proverbs 15:30. https://www.jw.org/en/news/jw/#newsAlerts

This is the second picking and I'll get one more and maybe a small one after that. The leaves stay in to feed the soil, the bush looks good, so much new growth. Glad I did this, found snails and slugs lurking under there. Got 'em!

  15. Just the pictures on those cards and clothes would send me running. Too bad we couldn’t knock some sense into people about the dangers and evilness of Satan’s schemes. But they’d think WE were the ones being stupid. ☹️☹️☹️ Scarey. Some years back, we had a lady that was having trouble with demons. In time she came in the truth. Now I hear she has disassociated herself from the truth I don’t know if my thinking is correct but it makes me think of Matthew 12:43-45: 43 “When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through waterless places in search of a resting-place and finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will go back to my house from which I moved,’ and on arriving, it finds the house unoccupied but swept clean and adorned. 45 Then it goes and takes along with it seven different spirits more wicked than itself, and after getting inside, they dwell there; and the final circumstances of that man become worse than the first. That is how it will be also with this wicked generation.”

  16. Very odd... yet.. not odd when you really think about it and who's behind all this. People have been rejecting religion more and more, but have been getting deeper into spiritism. Not sharing "ghost stories" but where my mom works, majority of the staff are into some form of heavy spiritism and well.. it seems to affect the place. This is a trend I'm sure many are noticing. Scoffing at the scriptures, but attributing power to random satanic paper cards.

  17. An obvious one from me! “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever, It's such a short scripture but it encapsulates so much.

  19. What's funny is that people could be looking to the Bible for answers. Even though the Bible didn't predict Trump or Brexit, when you look into it, it makes sense, because in Daniel it talked about the time of the end being represented by the feet of clay and iron, representing how people would be divided politically. I find the political climate makes it a challenge for Christians, because it's getting to the point where people are threatening fundamental freedoms. But what's going to happen is what Jehovah is going to allow to happen. Also, Daniel and Revelation predicted an Anglo-American world empire, not Euro-American. I didn't think about it, til after, but it makes, sense in retrospect that it would be the UK that would take actual steps to become independent of the EU, even though many countries seem to be frustrated with it. Also I take absolutely everything in mainstream news with a grain of salt. A lot of it is very liberal, so they blame everything bad on Trump and Brexit. I wouldn't be surprised if, next year, they blame an increase in acne on Trump and Brexit XD XD XD

  20. Its funny how a couple of weeks ago I commented at the WT Study how people had turned away from organised religion. They still want spirituality, but confuse it with spiritism. On the point of young girls being naively ensnared like Eve, Satan is the biggest pervert.

  21. The tarot revival thanks to Brexit, Trump and Dior - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44471537 When I read this I thought Satan must be full of glee. More people than ever turning to Tarot cards to help them understand the uncertainties of todays world. Fashion house Dior using tarot/ occult symbols on their clothing which inevitably will be copied and end up in high street shops. In particular, I noted that the idea of tarot is appealing to a higher number of young girls. I thought that was a particularly insidious way for Satan and his followers to snare the unsuspecting populous

  22. With all due respect I absolutely disagree with this comment. It's true that some cancer patients die despite their treatments, but it's not true nor fair to say that current treatments (surgery to remove the tumor, followed by chemo or radiotherapy) leads in the majority of cases to more pain and suffering and an early death. That is absolutely false and very dangerous to say too. Unfortunately a lot of people I know have suffered some kind of cancer, including my mother and many relatives, brothers and sisters, workmates, neighbors, etc. In most cases they underwent a conventional treatment in a hospital and they recovered. Of course, nobody likes surgery, and radio and chemo are hard, although they have improved enormously over the last couple decades. The vast majority of those persons were healed after the treatment. On the other hand, I haven't seen anyone healed of a cancer by taking baking soda, as in that video. I've known a handful of people who resorted to alternative therapies such as magnetotherapy and naturopathy and they all died of their cancer. I know someone who preferred not to have any treatment and died too. I'm not saying that alternative therapies don't have any value, they may have worked for some people. But when you look at the raw numbers it seems that conventional medicine, the one supported by pharmaceutical companies and by science, is astronomically by far the most effective we have. The idea that there's an easy way to cure cancer but pharmaceutical companies keep it hidden is absurd. First, because those companies are made up of people, many of whom suffer from cancer or have relatives who die of cancer. Are they so greedy that they prefer to die or see their family dying rather than using that wonderful cure? If such a cure exists, why do powerful people who are rich and in the know, such as famous doctors, presidents or prime ministers die of cancer? Besides, pharmaceutical companies invest huge amounts of money in cancer research and they are all in competition. If one of them had a cure for cancer, it wouldn't make sense to keep investing on other treatments or keep it hidden, they would hurry to commercialize it before a competing company does! The first company to patent and sell the simple cure for cancer will quickly become the richest company on earth. Please, don't try to convince people that doctors are evil or that medical science is evil.

  25. Right. I did go back to the story to see what happened, scrolled down to the comments. Of course people are worried about what color the shooter was. What difference does that make? Would people be less dead if the shooter was a different color? Let your kingdom come!

  28. This story on Daily Mail News/June 28, 2018: France brings back national service for all 16-year-olds France will re-introduce mandatory 'national service' for all young 16-year-old Conscript service will last one month with an option to extend up to a year The national service was a campaign pledge by Emmanuel Macron France is bringing back compulsory national service for 16-year-olds, fulfilling one of President Emmanuel Macron's campaign pledges. Conscripts will be made to serve for one month, with a focus on civic service as well as military training, and the option of extending the placement of up to a year. Military conscript service was scrapped in 1996, leaving Macron the first ever French President not to have been drafted. During his presidential campaign, Macron promised to make all young people spend a month getting 'a direct experience of military life with its know-how and demands'. He billed it as a way to build social cohesion and patriotism in a country battling deep divisions, by bringing young people from different backgrounds together in a barracks. The new Service National Universel [Universal National Service], which is being trialled from 2019 is reportedly a watered-down version of Macron's original idea. The mandatory one-month placement is intended to 'enable young people to create new relationships and develop their role in society,' according to the French government. Focus will be on charity work as well as traditional military training which will be carried out within the police, emergency services or the French army. Once the month is completed, the conscripts will have the option of extending the service of three months to a year. France's last conscripts were demobilised in 2001, ending nearly a century of military service which saw millions of men put through their paces. While some French men look back fondly on their stint in the army, many middle-class youths called in well-placed contacts - or feigned mental health problems - to duck out of it. In January, Macron - the first French president not to have been called up to serve, having come of age after it ended - insisted he was not trying to resurrect the tradition which was ended by ex-president Jacques Chirac. He said his aim was to give young men and women alike 'causes to defend and battles to fight in the social, environmental and cultural domains.' *************************************************************************** ************************************************** Looks like our young brothers in France will be going through persecution and prison. We know it's the end of this system when they go back on their words and court rulings.

  39. I remember the Let God Be True book being the first I ever read. My Mother took the literature at the door but didn't read it. I couldn't understand it very well reading as a teen on my own, but I did get one big thing from it and that was that I learned that God had a name! Not too many years later I was given the Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained book which I read from cover to cover in one night! I started studying in it shortly after. I thought I remember it as orange..just because I always was so fond of it that I remember at all but it could just be my faulty memory...☺️

  43. Ok, so let me begin...The scripture which changed my life, was one which our District Overseer ( remember those ? ) at the time, Noble Bower, used in a talk at our assembly in Dunoon, it was Ex 31:1-11 describing Jehovah’s commissioning of Bezalel and Oholiab to carry out work on Jehovah’s tabernacle. Although I was baptised at the time, I was a telephone engineer and many well-meaning brothers and sisters were encouraging me to take further studies and saying things like “ you know we’ll still need skilled telecoms people in the new world” .. but Bro. Bower made the strong point using Ex31:1-11, that Jehovah didn’t use Israelites who had gained certain skills in Egypt, but chose who he wanted and put his spirit in them. That point hit home....I decided there and then to hand in my notice and become a regular pioneer and Jehovah strengthened me to do that, in addition he used me to help in sound departments and telecoms departments at large conventions such as Murrayfield and Perth .... Truly God’s word is ALIVE and exerts power as Paul wrote in Hebrews....Thank you Jehovah ! Ex 31:1-11 Jehovah continued to speak to Moses, saying: 2 “See, I have chosen Bezʹal·el the son of Uʹri the son of Hur of the tribe of Judah. 3 I will fill him with the spirit of God, giving him wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of every kind of craftsmanship, 4 for making artistic designs, for working with gold, silver, and copper, 5 for cutting and setting stones, and for making every kind of wood product. 6 Moreover, to assist him I have appointed O·hoʹli·ab the son of A·hisʹa·mach of the tribe of Dan, and I am putting wisdom into the heart of all those who are skillful, so that they may make everything I have commanded you: 7 the tent of meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the cover that is on it, all the utensils of the tent, 8 the table and its utensils, the lampstand of pure gold and all its utensils, the altar of incense, 9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin and its stand, 10 the finely woven garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, the garments of his sons to serve as priests, 11 the anointing oil, and the perfumed incense for the sanctuary. They will do everything I have commanded you

  44. Wow no kidding. No wonder the people in the world are so screwed up. They are more angry than ever and you say or look at them with the slightest thing and they are ready to snap your neck for it. I pointed out to a woman in a truck that she was sitting in the entrance to a gas station and was blocking 3 cars behind her. I motioned for her to move up it was ok. She got out of her truck and started mouthing off at me for it. So much for doing someone a favor any more.

  48. This is how I figure it out. In the morning I check jw.org to see what's new and check the language tab. (copied from post 8. thanks to Tortuga) But not on the main website. So........ After copying, pasting and comparing the names of the languages on a excel sheet with a list from the time before. This Idea came from: And_Ray Next a search on Google where that particular language is spoken. The info usually comes from Wikipedia Then a search on WT Library (CD) for any experiences and check the featured publications. It doesn't take long, it's interesting what you find, I've learned a lot and it's a pleasure to share information. The next day I check this page: https://www.changedetection.com/log/org/jw/choose-language_log3.html to make sure I didn't make a mistake. ---------------------------------------------------------------- It's the third new language this month 995 Phimbi. Content 2 Tracts This time Wikipedia was not much help but another site says Phimbi is spoken in Mozambique

  49. Thanks, Michael. You're the one keeping me up to date on these. Without you they might have gone unnoticed. It looks like back in 2015, the brothers were not producing the Music-Videos in stereo just yet. This one is only in mono. (Remember that term?) That means the music doesn't sound as good with headphones (or earphones; with earbuds). Anyway, I have converted this one also to mp3 format and have uploaded it to my collection of songs. I'll add more as they come along. Enjoy...
