Lets discuss Daniel: A Lifetime of Faith.

 

What did you like from the Drama? ect.

 

Daniel is one of my favourite stories in the bible.

 My guess of the size of the image in Daniel 2chpt is 100 feet tall. Any guess?

I felt deeply moved when Daniel s father told him that

Ezequiel compared his faithfulness to Noah and Job… EZ 14:14

So many lessons in part 1

Value of teaching children to love Jehovah and to do what is pleasing to him, to build faith in him.  Daniel and the 3 Hebrews kept doing what is right even though they were in Babylon, away from their parents.  The other boys couldn't wait to try Babylonish life, and where did that lead them!  Whereas Daniel kept faithful and was blessed.

We probably know ones, especially if we were raised in the truth, other youngsters who did not stay in the truth, ones who left as soon as they could and the sad lives they have carved out for themselves.  But also seen the blessings of Jehovah to those who stayed faithful and put him first.

 

Its interesting that they learned the ways of Babylon, their teachings.  But they were not influenced by them.  Today, our young ones may have to learn things like evolution and other teachings of this world, because the schools teach these things.  But they are not swayed by them.  They keep learning about Jehovah.  And when possible defend Jehovah and they too give a witness.

 

Daniel showed faith in Jehovah, even though he did not know for sure that Jehovah would reveal the dream to him.  He gave full credit to Jehovah, and used the opportunity to give a great witness to Jehovah.

 

The words of Ezekiel are touching.  They show how at the young age, Daniel had already made a good name for himself with Jehovah.  No wonder Jehovah used Daniel to reveal and record some of the most fascinating prophecies in the Bible.

Something I learned is that Daniel and others being moved or captured happened before 607. Somehow I thought his family was taken during the destruction. I think I got that idea from the Bible story book photo. Anyway, I said something about it during the watching and my husband was like “You didn’t know that, woman?” 😂 I will be watching it again and picking up more details I am sure.

I'm trying to work out the starting year of the drama.

 

I'm not sure if the starting point of 618 B.C. is correct. (Nebuchadnezzar takes first Jewish captives to Babylon)

Because if 618 B.C. is the start point then after 3 years of training that would make the year 615 B.C.

And seven years later would make it 608 B.C.

But the drama at 28:04 says "seven years later at 607 B.C."

 

So should the start point of the drama be 617 B.C.?

Daniel was told he has a bright future ahead of him and that he shouldn't waste it.

How many of our young ones have heard that from teachers and career councillors at school, pushing them into higher education and a career in this system of things.  Thankfully, many like Daniel, choose to seek the Kingdom first.

I always imagined that Daniel left his family behind in his home country, but of course, he probably didn’t. It is quite possible that they followed him to Babylonia, even if they didn’t settle in the capital of Babylon.

The empire was big... we will have more details when Daniel will be back.

According to the drama, it seems like that Nebuchadnezzar had his 2 visions after 607 BCE. It make since he destroyed Jehovah’s temple, conquer nations, and rebuilt Babylon. He thought he was stronger than Jehovah and Jehovah chopped down his kingdom or his tree. Daniel 4th chpt.

Has anybody mentioned how the brothers are getting soooo much better with special effects?  The massive tree, the statue with the head of gold....WOW!!!  And we thought that Jonah's great fish was really impressive!!
