  3. WOW! Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for sharing, Sister Svetlana!!! Stinking unreal how history in Russia is repeating itself. Russia has perfected their Kangaroo courts over decades and decades of practice. Guilty before even tried. We know how the God of Justice, Jehovah, feels about, and deals with, such atrocious injustice. Gonna be praying extra hard for our persecuted family members in Russia. May Jehovah continue to sustain them, and may they continue to strengthen one another.

    Climate Change News

Is there climate change ..... who is to say - there may be. I remember back in the 1960's when the cold war started in real earnest .... there were nuclear test being carried out by several countries. Fear ran deep with the threat of Mutual Assured Destruction. Many thought the earth would be ruined by atomic bombs. Fallout shelters were being built at record paces. Even some JW's got swept up into this fervor and built fallout shelters and began storing food. Now, was the threat real ..... yes, it was. Should we have gotten worried that the earth would be destroyed by man? NO! The same holds true of global warming and/or climate change. Is the threat real .... could be Should we be overly concerned? NO! Why not? Jehovah has promised that the earth will endure forever. He also said that this system will still be operating at a pace that some will not take note until His end to this system. So, I, personally, do not get concerned/upset/carried away/consumed with things like this. Jehovah will not let the face of the earth suffer total destruction. He has indicated that HE will end man's abuse of the earth, not that man will cause his own destruction by pollution, nuclear war, climate change or any other means.

  6. Fire is a chemical reaction that releases light and heat. The ancient Greeks amazingly started fire with concentrated sunlight. A parabolic mirror that focuses solar rays is still used to ignite the Olympic torch. Amazing fact is earth is the only known planet where fire can burn. Everywhere else you don’t find enough oxygen for fire to occur. Fire triangle represents the three components that fires need to exist: heat, oxygen and fuel. Fire is extinguished when one of these components is missing. Fact is oxygen supply influences the color of the flame. A low oxygen fire gives off a yellow glow. A high oxygen fire burns blue. Candle flames are blue at the bottom because that’s where they take up fresh air, and yellow at the top because the rising fumes from below partly suffocate the upper part of the flame. Amazing fact is fire can make water. Place a cold spoon over a candle and you will observe the water vapor condense on the metal. Wax contains hydrogen which combines with oxygen to make water. Assuming stable fuel, heat and oxygen levels, a typical house fire will amazingly double in size every minute. Fire is faster than generally thought as it takes less than thirty seconds for a fire to become very difficult to control. A candle flame typically burns at around 1000 degrees Celsius (1800 Fahrenheit). Amazing fact is that more people die from smoke inhalation than flames. Fire can suck all of the oxygen from a room and fill it with poisonous smoke and gases before flames even reach a room. During wildfires it’s amazing that trees can explode if water deep inside the tree quickly turns to steam. The heat from a fire alone is enough to kill. It can get as hot as 315 degrees Celsius at eye level , hot enough to scorch your lungs if you breathe it in and to melt the clothes you’re wearing into your skin. If you’re in a burning house, you might not be able to see. It can be pitch black because of the dark smoke. Amazingly you might not be able to find the exit in fire even if you’ve lived there for years since smoke can be extremely disorienting. Memorize your escape plan beforehand and practice it blindfolded. Air is 21 percent oxygen which combines with acetylene and you get an oxyacetylene welding torch that burns at over 5500 degrees Fahrenheit, the hottest fire you encounter. A gallon of gasoline has the explosive potential of 30 sticks of dynamite. Amazingly you can start a fire with ice. At 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, unprotected steel may collapse under its own weight during fire. Amazing fact is that forest fires move faster uphill than downhill! The steeper the slope, the faster the fire travels. Once a forest fire begins, it can spread at an amazing rate of up to 15 miles per hour, consuming everything in its path. On 13 August 2012 scientists at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, Geneva, Switzerland, announced that they had achieved the Highest Manmade Temperature of over 5 trillion K and perhaps as high as 5.5 trillion K , more than 300,000 times hotter than the center of the sun. When John Walker used a stick to stir a pot containing antimony sulfide, potassium chlorate & sulfur, some of the mixture stuck to the end of the stick. When the lump was scraped , it caught fire which led to the birth of match sticks. Fire extinguishers control fires by discharging water, foams, carbon dioxide, dry chemicals or other substances. No one knows who invented the fire hydrant, because its patent was destroyed in a fire. A single fire hydrant in San Francisco survived a massive earthquake in 1906 and aided fire fighters in saving the Mission district. The hydrant was painted gold in memory of the event. Walt Disney World is the largest consumer of fireworks in the United States launching the fireworks with compressed air instead of gunpowder to reduce fumes and gain better height and timing. There’s a bush called dictamnus albus which secretes a flammable, oily substance which can be lit on fire, without burning the bush itself. Amazingly cotton will catch on fire if super glue is applied to it. More than 80 percent of all wildfires are started by humans. The most common cause of fire deaths is cooking fires , the risk emanating from kitchen. Two of every five home fires started in the kitchen. In the great fire of London in 1666, 80 % of London was burnt down but only 6 people were injured. It burned out of control for 5 days and destroyed 13,000 homes and 87 churches. Great fire of London also ended bubonic plague epidemic that had killed 65000 people as rats and fleas were fried. A natural gas vent in Iraq known as The Eternal Fire has been burning continuously for over 4,000 years A coal seam about 140 miles north of Sydney, Australia, has been amazingly burning for thousands of years. America’s deadliest fire took place in 1865, aboard the steamship Sultana when the boilers exploded. The ship was six times over capacity mostly carrying prisoners released recently. The death toll was amazing 1,547. During WWII, Japan actually sent 9000 “fire balloons” towards North America to cause damage . About thousand of them actually hit land and killed 6 people. The Cairo opera house was destroyed by fire in 1970. Amazing thing was it also housed Cairo fire station. Fire houses have spiral staircases because the horses that used to pull the fire wagons learned to walk up straight ones. Ashtrays are compulsorily required on every commercial airplane because 123 people died on a flight in 1973 when a lit cigarette caught fire in a lavatory waste bin. On August 19, 1980, a Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight carrying 301 people caught fire shortly after takeoff. The plane landed safely but when the ground crew opened the doors, everyone was already dead due to poisonous gases.. In 1985, Philadelphia police used a helicopter to drop two bombs on a house during an armed standoff which resulted in a fire that killed 11 and destroyed 60 homes. The Black Dragon Fire of 1987, the largest wildfire in modern times, burned some 20 million acres across China and the Soviet Union, an area about the size of South Carolina. A fire in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 2002 killed 15 school girls . They were not allowed to leave the burning building by the state’s religious police because they were not wearing correct Islamic dress. In 2004, over 300 people died in a supermarket fire in Asunción, Paraguay because the owners shut the doors so that people wouldn’t leave without paying.

  7. All i did after it was together is used a random orbital sander over the wood to take slivers off and clean them up a little I like the rough look and with the finish I put on them it makes the saw marks on the wood pop. If you run your hand over it it feels like its oiled. I use Flood CWF UV fence and siding finish on these.

  8. Hi Brother William I'm wondering really, as a kindness towards our brothers and sisters, if we should not assume to conclude they are 'ignoring' facts. I'm in agreement with you about the deplorable and urgent condition of the earth. Obviously your mind veers towards the plight of the earth in a different way than perhaps another person might direct their concerns. IE: someone might be more concerned about the change in animal behaviour - or someone might be more concerned, if they live in cities about the increase of violence or treatment of innocents. So because someone either doesn't agree with you or treats what you say flippantly on your favoured topic, doesn't mean they are ignoring it or think what you say is rubbish. It means we are all different with concerns on a wide range of issues. If we were to be concerned about everything that is going wrong on the planet it would do our heads in. It's at the stage, of not needing to convince people there is something wrong, but focusing on the fact that now it's not reversible, and the ONLY one who can help is Jehovah and his kingdom. I think many come across as 'ignoring' because the evidence is so overwhelming. Many don't know how to process it. I've noticed that the FDS is more and more directing our attention to the POSITIVES of creation ... with all the videos they are releasing, and even in this months broadcast, they are encouraging us to build on our faith in Jehovah by studying the positive side of creation. Leaving the mess firmly in Jehovah's hands to sort. I felt I had to say something, because when we impute wrong motives (and unless we have this amazing ability to read people hearts - sometimes even uttered words don't show whats really in their hearts) then we could be wronging our brothers and sisters. If you have an interest in an area, which obviously you do, then by all means share it, but don't force it. Those whose hearts are inclined towards the information you convey will read it and come to their own conclusions. None of us can just believe because you say so. It takes time to sit down, meditate, compare it with spiritual/scriptural evidence and then prayerfully come to a conclusion. Give your brothers and sisters both the opportunity and the dignity to do so on their own. Kind regards Mandi x Just wanted to add William - I personally enjoy much of the information you put up and thank you for that.

But there are some very interesting ideas, especially those written by individuals rather than a writing committee. The new way is so much better. It is wonderful the way Jah's chariot moves ahead, and brightens the light of understanding.

  16. The tarot revival thanks to Brexit, Trump and Dior - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44471537 When I read this I thought Satan must be full of glee. More people than ever turning to Tarot cards to help them understand the uncertainties of todays world. Fashion house Dior using tarot/ occult symbols on their clothing which inevitably will be copied and end up in high street shops. In particular, I noted that the idea of tarot is appealing to a higher number of young girls. I thought that was a particularly insidious way for Satan and his followers to snare the unsuspecting populous

If they want another type of stop say a slab or a chunk of stone the price would go up a lot more. Here is the one I made for a local pub. They are doing a draw on it so I can get some publicity. I put a coleman cooler in these. Got them at Walmart cheapest pricing I could get for the cooler. This one is premium. I used brass fasteners in it so the fasteners would not corrode being outside. I put the Name of the Pub on the lid of the cooler. Strykerz.

  20. wow the fact that someone was trying undermine such a fundamental religious liberty for their own selfish reasons makes me so mad. I know, I need to trust in Jehovah, and he always makes things turn out so that his will can be done. But it still makes me mad how people are so selfish they want to take freedom away from everyone else just so they can get what they want. Can you imagine if the congregation had to pay everyone who got disfellowshipped a settlement? That would cripple the progress of the organization. No sense of responsiblity for his actions at all. Also, having a friend who recently got disfellowshipped, from my experience, I can imagine there were likely people who tried to help him and reach out to him and plead with him. I can imagine what an immense slap in their faces it must have been when he not only went to court, but blamed the congregation for everything that went wrong in his life.

  21. This just hurts my heart. In the sixties, this prophecy existed. Today, things are lined up like dominoes. And when they start falling, no matter the shape of things, amid the hopelessness, there we will be with that hope shining brightly. And, one mighty thankful group of people. “So ends the night”. (OT. The first time I heard this song, I thought of it as a, “dirge”. And was my too fond of it. I listened, read, and pondered. Now, It is one of the most beautiful pieces of poetry, to me. To music. I even pretty well memorized it!)

I take a new cooler and wrap a frame around it then build a wood lid to fit over the cooler lid It is glued on with a special caulking I use that will stick to plastic. There is a copper and brass outlet with a tap to drain the water out of the cooler. It will keep ice for 3 days.

  26. I remember seeing a program about tree harvesters. One of the things they mentioned is that a hand-held chainsaw blade only cuts with every other tooth with the teeth in between used as "chippers" to remove the already cut wood from the cutting teeth. They then explained that the saws used in harvesters have blades where every tooth is a self-chiping cutting tooth and that is why they cut so fast. They said that the reason this can work is because the chain and bar is being held and operated by the machine - that a man would not be able to hold and use a saw so aggressive without injury.

  28. It's a danglehead processor. The grab arms grasp a log, the thumbnail drive wheels pull the log through and removes limbs and cleans the log up, cuts it to length- there are 2 saws, one front and one butt saw. He then sorts the log among several different sorts, lengths and types. Lots of math and concentration. Sitting in the drivers seat is intimidating, this thing is a monster. I'd rather work on it instead of operate it! Here's a little vid of it- this guy is cutting shorter lengths than they do here.

  29. Lew had to go back to the job and fuel his machine. It can carry 300 gallons of fuel but his crummy can only haul 105 gallons so he needs to stay on top of it. I got to ride along. Took some pictures. This is his dangle-head. I've actually got to help him work on the grab arms. I really love heavy machinery. So powerful and can make a big job small! This is his view up here, been here since January. Over the hill in the distance is the Columbia river and the Pacific ocean This is a stump I thought was pretty, all the stuff growing on it.

  30. Oh, please don't rely on Google. Your English is perfectly understandable, Victoria. (I find your English better than some native English speakers here!) I always appreciate the efforts of those non-English brothers and sisters who participate on this site. If a non-English brother or sister visits my congregation, I would like to hear their English, not a comment that's taken out of Google. We used to have a brother from Moldova in our congregation. His native language is Romanian, but he and his family also speak Russian fluently. His English was perfectly good, so he had no problem giving comments. But his mom, who still lives in Moldova, speaks barely any English. Whenever she visited Canada and came to our congregation, she wanted to participate in the meetings. So she would give a comment in Russian (we have a couple of Russian-speaking sisters here), then her son would translate it into English for the rest of us. It was always a delight when she visited. But there was once she surprised us and gave a short comment in English! (She must have had some coaching from her son beforehand.) That was so encouraging to hear that effort! We appreciate your effort here too.

If you are not one for older publications, then no need to store them. Create your own customized or personal library. I remember there was app for Android made by someone that did that. It would be different from JW Library, or maybe an extension of JW Library. A blend of Watchtower Library but with the WOL look and feel and features. If it was a web app or store app it could support more than just Windows.

  34. The thing is Brother William - it's already happening to islands such as kiribati, tuvalu, nauru ... NZ and probably Australia are getting refugees from these islands that are going underwater ... and the ones who choose to stay or can stay for now, can no long grow vegetation as salt water is inudating areas they used to grow their crops. It's really sad to see the state of this planet and that is only ONE aspect of our broken planet. I'm not counting the drive bys of icebergs that have broken off and go past the South Island on rare ocassions, or penguins dying down South because the ocean temp is too warm for them, or a whale who has just washed up on a beach recently who died because it had around 60 plastic bags in its stomach. Guy McPherson gives this planet ten years, and while his time span might be out by a decade or two (I'm no expert) more and more experts who initially disagreed with him are now starting to side with him in at least some of what he says.

What is it that led to a complete reversal of the Church’s position between the time of Russia's communism and today under Putin's rulership? The Al Jazeera TV network did some research on it and came up with this fascinating documentary. This story is not new, but first appeared last October. Even at 25 minutes it's worth the watch.
