Are you visiting, or moving there? That's really small! (The winner so far ) I was passing through Norseman WA on the edge of the Nullabor Plain. They had 13 publishers at the time and were desperate for us to stay. But I was heading for Perth.4 points -

I apologize Nancy for selecting the wrong quote above. I tried to fix it. Anyway... Since I know you a little, I think it's safe to say you are looking for fun wholesome games /activities for your teen age son and his friends? Since we are talking about a young man, most likely he's interested in something that may not be sports like basketball, but still offers exercise. Is that correct? Can we help Nancy? What works for the young ones you all know? What ideas have you found that might appeal to this demographic? Here is a suggestion for a capture the flag style game that does not use guns https://youtu.be/5h_xjCEHEOs3 points

That sounds like a compatibility issue. It appears that Papasonic uses some version or offshoot of Firefox OS for TV's. So, one would think that using FireFox would be the right choice. However, Mozilla has stopped all commercial development of Firefox OS, including for TVs as per their decision in 2015 and have not offered the OS for TV's since 2016. I am not sure what OS Panasonic is currently using. I would have to conclude that, if this is an older TV running Firefox OS that the newer versions of the FireFox browser may not be totally compatible She could try loading a different browser, perhaps Chrome or Opera and see if that would work. Seems there are quite a number of disappointed Panasonic owners who are having a variety of issues with their Smart TV's.3 points

Sunday, April 29 You are not the one who will build the house.—1 Chron. 17:4

Sunday, April 29 You are not the one who will build the house.—1 Chron. 17:4. Dismayed that there was no “house,” or temple, dedicated to Jehovah, David wanted to build one. However, Jehovah directed otherwise, as noted in today’s text. Although Jehovah lovingly assured David that He would continue to bless him, God directed that David’s son Solomon build the temple. How did David react? (1 Chron. 17:1-4, 8,11, 12; 29:1) David did not withhold his support, brooding over the prospect that the credit for temple construction would not be his. The building did, in fact, become known as Solomon’s temple, not David’s. While David may have been disappointed that he could not fulfill his heart’s desire, he fully supported the project. He eagerly organized work groups and gathered iron, copper, silver, and gold, as well as cedar timbers. Further, he encouraged Solomon, saying: “Now, my son, may Jehovah be with you, and may you be successful and build the house of Jehovah.”—1 Chron. 22:11, 14-16. w17.01 5:6, 73 points -
Although Saul was a sinner, we do not know if he forfeited his resurrection, as is the case with most others who committed suicide in the Bible (Zimri, Abimelech, Ahitophel etc.) as opposed to Judas, of whom we know that he will not receive a resurrection. Another person you forgot to mention was Samson, who was even a "suicide-bomber" of sorts. (Judges 16:30). Jehovah even helped him end his life the way he did. Job's wife kept telling Job to "curse God and die" and yet there is no indication Job was not blessed with children from the very same wife. If Job had committed suicide, his example would simply not be in the Bible today, because it would be of no merit. And yet, this does not mean Jehovah would not have had any understanding and forgiveness for his decision to end his life and resurrected Job along with his children in the future. I personally HATE this subject because people always try to simplify what may possibly be the most complex issue in regard to human emotions and human suffering. There is no black and white here. The Church came up with stupid rules like "well the last thing you did is commit a sin, so you had no time to ask for forgiveness, so God can't forgive you, so all suicides end up in hell!" and we don't resort to that kind of man-made logic. I live with depression and anxiety and my wife suffers from chronic pains from her rheumatoid arthritis, and literally nobody understands what we're going through except for Jehovah. I have had a half a dozen worldly friends who commited suicide for several reasons in the past decade or so, some completely impossible for us to understand or impossible to foresee. What I noticed in a lot of cases is that despite the suffering their decision caused, all of their (worldly) friends and family members were able to understand the step and forgive the person who commited suicide, so I see no reason why Jehovah is not able to do the same. Having said that, as for us who know Jehovah and the sanctity of life, we do well to endure and use our resolve and endurance to bring praise to Jehovah and to make his power "perfect in weakness." according to 2 Corinthians 123 points

There is that possibility, yes... Looks like someday we will have to look back and see if it was... Romans 2:14b 14 '---- these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves'. Then skip on down to verse 16a 16 'This will take place in the day when God through Christ Jesus judges the secret things of mankind----' I guess we will find out soon enough. ..3 points

Moving. It has been a long time planning. 5 yrs ago when my son was on the mend from cancer we had debt up and over our heads. So it has taken us 4 and a bit yrs to work hard and pay it off. We will be debt free in about 2 months. Then our plan is to save for the next 6... pioneer Jan 1 and buy a caravan and live on the road up at St George cong. We went to visit them last Jan and 1 older brother does EVERYTHING. Its a HUGE territtory. They only do the town as there is only 4 of them and 2 are not well physically. So if anyone in Australia wants to serve where a little cong needs desperate help please consider there!. If my husband and i concsntrate just on rurals we will take 18 months to cover the territory once. We have bible studies already waiting for us to come. As noone is there to do them. If an alternate browser doesn't work, I would go with the $30 Roku Express to use the official JW Broadcasting app, and leave behind the embedded smart TV apps altogether. Smart TVs, especially older ones, rarely receive software updates due to hardware compatibility reasons. When the rest of the internet moves past the capabilities of the old browser, you're stuck with outdated software, and the only answer you'll get from the TV manufacturer is to buy an expensive replacement for an otherwise perfectly functional television.2 points

One of the world's most toxic plants, the hallucinogenic Devil’s Trumpet, has been discovered in the back garden of a couple's home in North Yorkshire. The plant belongs to the `witches’ weeds’ group, along with deadly nightshade, and most parts contain toxic hallucinogens. Those who experiment with it for hallucinogenic effect can suffer disorientation, blurred vision, a dry mouth and incontinence. Overdoses can result in death2 points -

Wearing balaclavas and carrying machine guns, police in four Russian cities have raided the homes of Jehovah’s Witnesses over the past two weeks and brought members of the religious group in for questioning, sources connected to the group told Newsweek. In Russia, where the Orthodox Christian Church has deep ties to the highest levels of the Kremlin, the government has labeled Jehovah’s witnesses an “extremist” sect. The ruling was made exactly one year ago, in April 2017, and came into force just a few months later when Russia’s Supreme Court dismissed an appeal. The group’s administrative center in St. Petersburg, Russia was consequently dissolved, and Jehovah’s witnesses were forced to begin worshiping in secret in their homes after almost 400 local chapters shuttered. Meanwhile, many say they have faced systematic harassment by security forces. Since January, members of the group say they have had their homes raided on at least seven separate occasions, four of which took place in April. “It’s a new wave of persecution. We don’t know what’s happening,” Yaroslav Sivulsky, a Jehovah’s Witness from Russia who is now living in exile in Latvia, told Newsweek Thursday. “If they wanted to they could put any number of Jehovah’s Witnesses in prison because they know the Jehovah’s Witnesses are worshipping at home and they can find them easily.” Read more here: http://www.newsweek.com/jehovahs-witnesses-russia-ban-police-9030211 point

Years ago, I visited the congregation at Frank, Alberta (in Canada). Located near the famous Frank Slide disaster of the early 1900s they had a small congregation of about 15-20 (at that time). A congregation is still listed on our JW.ORG website for the town but I do not know its current size.1 point -

Since she is posting on the forum, I would guess she has Internet access - but, yes, the Roku will most definitely need to be able to access the Internet for it to work. Also, keep in mind that most "local" stations will not be available on Roku. The Roku has apps/channels that must be used to watch the content for that particular provider ... like Netflix, YouTube and JWBroadcasting. However, you must also remember that not all those channels are "free" content. Even on Roku, just because a channel exits does not mean that the content is free. Netfilx is a good example. Without a Netflix account, the Netflix channel will not work. Also, channels like The History Channel (and many others) may have free content but it will not be the "live" broadcasts. It will be selected archived content - often not including the "current" season of a program.1 point

Bill Cosby Convicted
bogartd reacted to rbrown1205 for a topic
It may well be that he did dirty recordings, but I have never heard them. My first exposure to Bill Cosby was when he was in I Spy in the mid 1960's, for which he won an Emmy award. My siblings and I just about memorized his album (yes, in vinyl) called "I Started Out as a Child", where he introduced Fat Albert, and also his version of Noah's conversation with "the Lord" where Noah asked "Am I on Candid Camera?" And the Cosby Show continued the importance of family values long after Father Knows Best and similar programs moved on. But how people act in the general media is often different from how they act in real life. "Sex and drugs and rock and roll" became a mantra among the young in the sixties. But celebrities, actors and musicians especially, are often excused from behaving morally, and although apparently, this wasn't the case with what Cosby was accused of doing, many fans ("groupies") have encouraged it. Still, it hurts for me to discover that this man whose work I have seen for most of my life has messed up his life and reputation so badly.1 point -
Our summers aren’t always the warmest, but it’s is a beautiful area. Numerous falls, cruise boats to Pictured Rocks, kayaking, boating, you name it, it can be done here. Plenty of snow for the snowmobilers to drink their beer 🍺 and act stupid and land in the hospital or worse. Can’t seem to enjoy activities without alcohol and speed. By the time they figure that out, it’s too late. This is Scott falls about 10 miles or so from me. The pic was taken on April 25...it finally broke thru the ice and flowing.1 point
